One day Courtney was having shortness of breath. She decided to go to her doctor to she if she was diagnosed with anything. The doctor recommended she see a Pulmonologist to have further testing done. Courtney went to the Pulmonologist and had many tests done. First, she had to breath into a chamber (inhaler) which recorded how strong her lungs were. Next, the Pulmonologist listened to her chest, to see how her lungs sounded. The Pulmonologist recorded all of Courtney's results to track her progress. Courtney had to return to the Pulmonologist the following week to see the results of her tests. The tests didn't turn out the way Courtney or her family wanted them too. Courtney was diagnosed with a disease called asthma. To treat her asthma the Pulmonologist gave her prescriptions for Ventolin and Flovent which are asthma medications/treatments. After she received the medications, the Pulmonologist said to use the medications twice a day for a month. As part of Courtney's recovery plan, the doctor recommended weekly visits to check her progress. Lastly, the doctor recommended a long recovery plan to maintain her health. Courtney must take her medication when she feels shortness of breath, and must go to the doctor once a month for a year and maintain good health.
